Job Title: Court of Protection Solicitor Location: Bristol Contract Details: Permanent, full-time Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum - DOE About Our Client: A Court of Protection Solicitor is sought to join a well-established and modern law firm with over 30 years of experience. This firm is renowned for excellence in providing a comprehensive range of legal services to businesses and individuals. With offices in the South West, Midlands and London, our client offers a national reputation for strength and depth in the legal industry. Responsibilities: Provide litigation support, including contentious deputyship work, in collaboration with senior members of the Court of Protection department. Demonstrate an understanding of clients' needs and act promptly, proactively, and efficiently in all client matters. Manage Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain-injured and vulnerable clients. Handle Trust management, assisting with tax affairs, and preparing accounts. Draught Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications, and other associated applications to the Court of Protection. Maintain day-to-day contact with clients, attending to their individual lifestyle requirements and ensuring accurate records and payments. Delegate and supervise tasks to paralegals and trainees when appropriate. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the law and fulfil continuing professional development requirements.Essential (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience): Qualified Solicitor registered with the SRA or FCILEx qualified Legal Executive within Court of Protection and Clinical Negligence Extensive experience in Court of Protection law and practise. Self-organised and proactive, demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Confidentiality and the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements. Proficiency in Case Management and other relevant IT systems. Excellent prioritisation, deadline management, and ability to work under pressure.Desirable (Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience): Previous experience in contentious Deputyship work. Familiarity with brain injury cases and vulnerable clients. A track record of successfully managing Property and Affairs Deputyships.
