Lead AI Engineer

Lead AI Engineer (100% Remote | £60K - £65K) Are you an experienced AI Engineer ready to take on a leadership role in a dynamic, growing team? We are looking for a Lead AI Engineer to spearhead the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions, working with the latest advancements in generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). This is a key hire, and you’ll be the first senior member of the AI team with the opportunity to shape and expand the team to 12 people over the next 12 months. You will work closely with senior leadership and be instrumental in driving AI projects that are crucial to business innovation. What You’ll Do : Lead the development and deployment of AI models, with a strong focus on Generative AI and LLMs like GPT-4. Architect AI solutions using Azure Machine Learning , Azure Cognitive Services , and tools like Prompt Flow . Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, data science, and engineering, to align AI solutions with business objectives. Manage AI pipelines and implement MLOps best practices for scalable, efficient model deployment. Lead the growth of the AI team, mentoring junior team members and driving projects from concept to completion. Key Skills Required : 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, with a strong background in Generative AI and LLMs . Expertise in Python , PyTorch , TensorFlow , and Azure AI technologies. Proven experience leading AI projects, with a focus on deploying and optimising models for tasks like text generation , classification , and content summarisation . Familiarity with MLOps practices, version control, and containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes . Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor a team and manage high-level stakeholder relationships.
