Head of NPD

If so, we have the PERFECT role for you! Our fabulous client is seeking a Head of NPD to lead their strategic direction & execution of new product innovations from concept to launch. You will be responsible for researching consumer trends & product formulations, driving product innovation, ensuring product quality, managing cross-functional teams and delivering on brand objectives to make a significant impact. Key Responsibilities: * Implement and develop NPD strategy aligned with the brand’s goals and vision in mind. * Analyse and identify market trends, consumer needs, and gaps in the product portfolio to propose new product concepts. * Manage and mentor a team of NPD professionals, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth. * Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to analyse market data and consumer insights to inform product innovation strategies. * Overseeing the NPD team to manage multiple product development projects simultaneously, from concept to launch. * Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring these are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. * Partner with R&D teams to guide the formulation and development of new products. * Oversee the testing and validation of new formulations, ensuring product efficacy, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. * Evaluate and approve prototypes, ensuring they align with brand standards and customer expectations. * Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as marketing, packaging, production, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless product launches. * Coordinate with external suppliers and manufacturers to source new ingredients, packaging, and production resources. * Ensure all new products adhere to industry regulations and company quality standards. * Stay updated on global personal care product regulations and compliance requirements. * Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance. * Oversee the NPD budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and projects. * Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising product quality. Qualifications, Skills & Experience: * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field. * 3+ years in a Senior NPD role. * Experience in managing cross-functional teams and managing projects. * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, creating a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging innovative thinking. * Identifying consumer trends and market analysis. * Extensive knowledge of skincare ingredients, formulation techniques, and industry trends. * Understanding of sustainability practices and emerging green technologies in skincare. * Knowledge of regulatory compliance including FSA/FDA and international standards
