As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team and help us shape the future of data infrastructure at Pets Choice!
About the Role:
- As the Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable, high-performance data infrastructure and pipelines that enable us to manage and analyse vast amounts of data effectively.
- Build and maintain cloud data warehouse/data infrastructure.
- Implement ETL procedures.
- Automate and optimise processes.
- Understand and connect data sources and present data in an easy to read format to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot issues with data integrity and report these findings across all areas of the business.
- Applying advanced level calculations on the data set.
- Train users and stakeholders on how to use the information.
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with industry standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends and best practices in data engineering.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Python and SQL is essential
- Understanding and experience of building a Cloud Data Warehouse
- Experience of cloud platforms such as Azure
- Use of ETL tools
- Data modelling
- Synapse
- Databricks
- Power BI
- Experience gained from a manufacturing background, ideally FMCG
- The ability to build strong relationships and to engage, negotiate, influence and collaborate across the organisation.
- Ability to explain data and technical concepts to non-technical teams
