This role offers a unique opportunity to be the lead Software Engineer on our team. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and motivated, holding a degree in computer science or a related discipline, with a strong interest and experience in medical device development.In addition to programming and testing, you will be responsible for architectural design, setting up development environments and pipelines, and developing corresponding software procedures. This is a pivotal role where you will have a significant impact on our product development and the opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.Your focus initially will beThe architectural design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software for our range of endoscopic equipmentDevelopment and enhancement of our embedded control software, image processing system, GUI, and peripheral interfacesContinuous improvement of our software development procedures, environments, and pipelinesGenerating comprehensive design packages for inclusion in the DHF and risk management file to facilitate transfer to production and submission to regulatory bodiesAdherence to international standards and our internal proceduresCollaboration with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, quality assurance, and regulatory affairsInnovative problem-solving to address complex challenges in medical device developmentMaintaining thorough documentation and reporting to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge transferDesigning software with a focus on usability and reliability for end-usersWhat you must haveA degree or equivalent in computer science or a related disciplineSolid foundation for good software development practices: design, coding standards, version control, bug/issue tracking, risk analysis, peer review, testing, traceabilityFamiliarity with IEC 62304, knowledge of FDA software documentation requirementsExperience with programming languages such as C, C++Competent in deploying applications to embedded microcontrollers such as PICsExperienced in deploying application to embedded RTOS such as Linux and FreeRTOSExperience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, HDMI, MIPICapable of developing multi-threaded software on real-time embedded devicesFamiliarity with usability concepts required to design graphical user interfaces for medical environmentsExperience using unit test frameworksExperience with software lifecycle tools such as Git, Perforce etcWho you areThis role would suit a Software Engineer with 3 years + of similar experience and a passion for medical devices looking for an opportunity to progress their career within an exciting and collaborative environment.You will be a well organised self-starter able to manage your own time effectively and track multiple tasks at various level of completion.
