Description Head of ContractsLocation: Farnborough, Hampshire, UKWe’re ready for you to unleash your potential!..Role Overview:We are looking for a Head of Contracts for the National Security and Defence area of Leidos Innovations UK.  The role holder will assist and report directly to UK Contracts Director. Duties and Responsibilities:Provide strong commercial and contractual programme leadershipLead and manage a portfolio of strategic commercial activities in close collaboration with Programme Director and Finance DirectorSupport strategic commercial initiatives as directed by Leidos UK Business and Programme DirectorDraft and negotiate commercially complex contract change proposalsUnderstand and scrutinize the financial performance of the programme identifying target areas for improvementLead contractual interactions with the Customer on strategic commercial issuesManage a small team of contracts managersEnsure that the financial aspects and impact of the contract are clear to all partiesEnsure that senior stakeholders are appropriately informed of programme developments and strategic directionEnsure overall programme compliance with commercial roadmapDevelop and maintain good working relationships with the customer commercial/contracts teamMust be a working contract manager, e.g. taking an active role in the performance of the contract and proactively working to identify risks, issues and opportunities and develop and implement strategies to mitigate the risks, resolve the issues and capitalize on the opportunities, and will be willing to cross functional lines to provide support to the programme leadership team when and where neededSupport role in regular, intensive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual technical and financial governance meetings (both internal and with the customer) in a fast-paced environmentAbility to operate independently and communicate effectively, both internally, with technical staff, peers, and management as well as externally, with customers, regulators and othersStrong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial statusExcellent written and verbal communications skillsLiaison with other Leidos operating units and corporate departments where applicableSkills Required:Provides commercial, contractual and technical interpretation of the contract Ability to analyse, interpret and identify risks within contractual terms and programme deliveryStrong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial statusCommercially astute Exceptional relationship management skills Excellent communicator keeping internal management appraised of key commercial issuesSophisticated negotiatorStrong negotiatorStrong collaborator Clearance Requirements: Clearance to Start BPSSClearance for Role SC HOGet onboard with the fastest growing company in the industry.
