To strengthen our Western Europe team, we are looking for an experienced Technical Project Engineer with field testing capacity to provide our customers with project management, troubleshooting, planning updates, support interface, lab integration and testing, interoperability testing (IOT), and customer trials.
The position is ideally based in London, and will require frequent travels to customer sites, and occasionally to other European countries.
The Role
- Onsite work as and when required by the company to assist customers with testing, validating, commissioning, network optimization, troubleshooting, and other similar tasks.
- Work with Sercomm technical teams to provide the client with faultless project management, enable on-time and on-target delivery of a project for CPE deployment.
- Work with Sercomm teams to identify risks, address them, and provide customers with realistic and effective solutions.
- Liaise with third parties involved in the project to deliver solutions to the customer.
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support for this product line. This position will provide the opportunity to work on the complete product and solutions industrial communication portfolio.
- Provide technical product presentations for functionality and conduct customer workshops and training as required.
- Assist the Sales team as needed with bid/tender documents and proposals, from early-stage design, budget phase, and proposal to negotiation and clarifications.
- Actively contribute with Marketing and Sales teams to produce new and high-quality case studies, application notes, white papers, newsletters, and other collateral material.
- Manage the RMA process (reception, processing, return of faulty and repaired/replaced products) as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Having experience in the CPE industry and dealt with chipset vendors is a strong plus.
- Minimum M.S./Eng. or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in the broadband CPE industry, including (any of) xDSL, xPON, WiFi router, or 4G/5G FWA.
- Experience in both hardware and software, with a good understanding of system-level operations.
- Familiar with the operator RFI/RFP/RFI process and winning experience with tier 1 operators.
- Familiar with product development cycles and manufacturer workflows.
- Familiar with technology trends in broadband access and applications.
- Familiar with business development in tier 1 operators for broadband CPE.
- Familiar with common CPE functions (xDSL, xPON, or DOCSIS modem) in the system layer, application layer, and service layer.
- Have good knowledge of xDSL and GPON technology.
- Experience and knowledge of end-to-end systems testing and deployment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- The post-holder will have a proven track record working in customer and development partners' test environments and labs.
