Goods In Manager The role Geary’s is a fast-growing business and as part of this growth we are seeking a Goods In Manager to join our team. The role will be to oversee the daily running of the Goods In department at the new Bakery in Glenfield. You will ensure all daily tasks are being fulfilled whilst coaching, mentoring your team and being the point of escalation within the Goods In department and reporting directly into the Supply Chain Manager. This person who takes on this role will manage the receiving, handling, storing, picking of all ingredients and packaging for our bakery operations, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded. The Goods In Manager must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate order fulfilment to the other manufacturing sites with the ideal candidate being exceptionally detail-oriented and able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously. The main responsibilities include: * Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control and space management. * Schedule and oversee warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency. * Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary. * Complete monitoring and analyse productivity * Work in collaboration with the warehouse teams at our other manufacturing facilities to ensure ingredients arrive in a timely manner to meet production requirements. * Work in collaboration with the Despatch warehouse manage to organise the transportation of ingredients to our other manufacturing facilities. * To ensure that all management of the warehouse systems are accurately updated, and all transactions/ movements are recorded. * Attend KPI and planning meetings. * To build a relationship and liaise with the Materials Planners who are responsible for the purchase all raw materials & packaging and are ensuring we have the right amount of stock at the right time. * To devise plans to cover peak periods and monitor capacity. * To ensure we have robust processes in place that ensure effective running during weekends and holidays and people know what to do in exceptional circumstances. * Responsible for cover holidays and sickness within the Goods In Department which you will be required to be flexible to work different days and hours as required. * Attend internal & external meetings that are relevant to your role and actively participate in these meetings and discussions. * Ensure all processes have an SOP and all staff are trained, and training records maintained for the Goods In team. * Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to deliver medium- and long-term business goals. * To ensure that any HR tasks such as return to works, holiday approvals etc are completed in a timely manner. * Be the point of contact and escalation for the Goods In team, providing support to resolve and mitigate issues. Candidate Requirements: * Warehouse management experience (preferably with dealing with goods inbound) - Essential * A minimum of 3+ years’ experience managing a team in a similar role ideally within food manufacturing - Essential * Have worked within a Retail / E-Commerce / FMCG environment previously - Essential. * Have experience of Project Management / Continuous Improvement methodologies – Advantageous. * Have experience working on Sage 200 – Advantageous * Have good Microsoft skills – Excel - Advantageous * Strong interpersonal skills, highly communicative and must have the ability to build good relationships with all stakeholders. * Has an eye for detail however can keep things simple and to the point. * Solution focused. * Experience in using warehouse management systems and leading a team. * To be a role model within the Goods In team and demonstrate Geary’s core values.
