Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with Severfield, the largest specialist structural steelwork Group in the UK, with the exciting appointment of a Pre-Construction Commercial Manager.This is an excellent opportunity and key hire for the group’s Nuclear and Infrastructure division, working for a business which prides itself on quality and innovation, with unrivalled expertise in critical infrastructure, major projects and emerging markets.As Pre-Construction Commercial Manager you will take full responsibility for the delivery of pre-construction commercials on high value and critical projects, building key relationships with a range of high-profile clients which service the defence, nuclear, and energy sectors.The Pre-Construction Commercial Manager will be responsible for:Reviewing and negotiating construction contracts at pre-construction stageIdentifying and addressing commercial risks in contractsEnsuring warranties and bonds are in place to maintain cashflowNegotiating terms to maximise income and to ensure favourable contract positionsWorking and liaising with experienced estimation and sales teamsDeveloping key relations with a range of clients, suppliers, and subcontractorsWorking closely with internal departments, providing practical legal support, to ensure successful, profitable work is won.The Pre-Construction Commercial Manager will need:Previous substantial commercial management experience with a QS or estimation background.Excellent people skills with the ability to influence and persuadeStrong experience of NEC contractsGood communication and customer facing skillsA good understanding of the construction industryExperience of winning and managing pre-construction projectsSeverfield prides itself in the delivery of quality products and services, knowing their people have forged a world-class reputation.
