Account Director - IT Reseller - London / Hybrid - Circa 65k base

Job Title: Account Director

Location: Remote / London (2 days a week)

Department: Sales

Reporting to: Sales Director

Job Summary:

The Account Director will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with existing clients and developing new business opportunities within the Microsoft and Cisco product ecosystems. This role is critical in driving revenue growth, ensuring client satisfaction, and positioning the company as a trusted partner for IT solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, account management, and an understanding of Microsoft or Cisco technologies via a reseller.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management (80%):

  1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders within existing accounts.
  2. Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute account strategies to drive customer retention, growth, and satisfaction. Identify and leverage upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  3. Revenue Growth: Achieve sales targets by expanding product and service offerings within existing accounts, particularly focusing on Microsoft and Cisco solutions.
  4. Customer Advocacy: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and acting as an advocate for the customer within the company.
  5. Project Oversight: Collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful delivery of projects and services, meeting client expectations and deadlines.

New Business Development (20%):

  1. Lead Generation: Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories or verticals, focusing on prospects who could benefit from Microsoft and Cisco solutions.
  2. Proposal Development: Create and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  3. Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations to close new business deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements for both the client and the company.
  4. Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to effectively position the company's offerings.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  2. Experience:
    1. 3+ years of experience in a sales or account management role for a reseller, specifically with a focus on Microsoft or Cisco products.
    2. Proven track record of managing and growing large accounts, with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
    3. Experience in new business development, with the ability to prospect, qualify, and close deals.
  3. Technical Knowledge:
    1. Strong understanding of Microsoft and Cisco products, services, and licensing models.
    2. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Skills:
    1. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    4. Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales analytics tools.
