Title: Senior Product Designer.Salary: £50,000-75,000 p/a, depending on experience.Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK).Place of Work: Hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office (Mondays and Fridays).Note: Please include a link to your portfolio showcasing your previous work along with your application. Additionally, please highlight a product that you have worked on end-to-end.nkoda is the most comprehensive digital library of sheet music, providing scores, performance parts, and educational materials from over 140 leading music publishers. It is designed to support music performance, practice, study, and teaching by enabling unlimited, immediate, and cost-effective access for musicians around the world.In addition to the nkoda app, we are soon launching:ARIA-i: An AI-powered companion for musicians, supporting them as they discover, make, and write about music.Kordl: A B2B SaaS platform that provides modern, end-to-end logistics software for music publishers.You will be a key member of the product and development team, responsible for UI and UX design across our three products – therefore, we’re looking for a designer equally strong in both categories.In a typical week, you will participate in agile ceremonies with your team, plan or carry out discovery work on new concepts, and create and deliver wireframe designs for production.Role and Responsibilities:Lead design on all key product areas, working closely with the CTO and CEO to drive product strategy, plan and execute designs, and prioritise design work.Run workshops, ideate and prototype quickly, and produce detailed design deliverables.Ensure that the products you design meet user needs, align with wider product and business goals, and are compatible with our front-end and back-end technologies.Champion users throughout the design process, developing a deep understanding of their needs through interviews and other research methods.Share insights with your team, fostering empathy for users across the organisation.Create concept designs for new products and projects, taking them from discovery to implementation.Proactively improve how the nkoda team works by exploring new tools and design processes and sharing them with other members of the product and technology teams.Required Experience & Skills:A minimum of five years of design experience, with a broad design skill set and strong expertise in user experience and user interface design.A strong portfolio demonstrating experience in running and creating UX for shipped products and services (including mobile apps) that meet user needs, product requirements, and business goals.Hands-on experience planning, conducting, and analysing user research and usability testing.Experience working on design systems or developing a common design language to unify the user experience across products.Great attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-fidelity designs and prototypes using tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Invision.A solid understanding of how design fits into an agile environment and the ability to work closely with the wider product and development teams.Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting and explaining the rationale behind designs to a wide range of stakeholders.A motivated, proactive, flexible, and pragmatic approach, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.An understanding of how to produce real-world designs given time and technical constraints.Desirable Experience & Skills:An understanding and knowledge of classical music and/or the ability to read sheet music.Experience working in-house in a startup organisation.Place of Work:nkoda is based in London. There will be flexibility regarding the remote/in-office work split (with a minimum of Mondays and Fridays in the office).
