Project Manager / Design Engineer

Hiring Now: Project Manager / Design Engineer, Fabrication / Manufacturing, Middlesbrough Our client is a global manufacturer and supplier of steel structures, working across a number of sectors including telecommunications. Due to continued company success, they require a Project Manager, ideally with a technical / engineering background, to join their business on a permanent basis. Are you currently working as a Junior Engineer or CAD Engineer within a Steel Structures Fabrication / Manufacturing environment and looking to move into Project Management? This role could be for you... Overview of the Project Manager: * To supporting growing expansion within telecommunication markets, the Project Manager with a focus on providing commercial and design support to key customers. * You will need to demonstrate skills in estimating and costing to support new product developments. * The role would involve building relationships with customers through giving continuous technical support on new and ongoing projects to drive new business opportunities. Responsibilities of a Project Manager: * Collaborating with key customers to produce bespoke product ranges to match their specified requirements. * Responsible for undertaking structural design FEA analysis using in-house software and Solidworks Simulation packages. * Creation of fabrication drawings and customer outline drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks * Liaising with key customers to provide contact point for scheduling of work through initial pricing, sales and design to production and shipping of finished product. * Development of customer relationships, organising rapid product development to support new sales opportunities. Ideal knowledge and experience: * Experience in 2D & 3D CAD systems (preferably Solidworks and AutoCAD) * Excellent communication and literacy skills * Knowledge of Microsoft office packages particularly excel for building costing templates * Degree educated in engineering discipline What's in it for you?
