An inclusive and nurturing primary school in Walthamstow is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their devoted team in September. The role The school is searching for a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teachers and the SEND Coordinator to provide personalized support, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education. Key responsibilities Support the learning and development of pupils with SEND. Assist in planning and delivering individual education plans (IEPs). Provide one-on-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom. Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Aid in classroom management and organization. Monitor and report on pupil progress to teachers and the SEND Coordinator. Support pupils with their personal care needs, if required. Participate in school activities and events. Requirements Relevant qualifications or experience as a Teaching Assistant. Experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting. A compassionate and patient approach to working with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Desirable Specific training or qualifications in SEND. Experience with various SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and physical disabilities. Knowledge of relevant educational tools and strategies.
