We have a fantastic opportunity at HMP Rye Hill to join the Novus education team as our Business Teacher on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours a week. Job description We are looking for a Business Teacher to join our education team at HMP Rye Hill. You will be working alongside the education team to deliver high quality Business lessons to groups of up to 16 learners. This is a classroom-based role, based on site, your work will play a key role in equipping learners with essential business skills. You will need patience, passion and understanding in your approach which will in turn help our learners to secure future employment opportunities post-release. The successful candidate should have a genuine passion for the subject, the ability to be an outstanding teacher of their subject and be committed to raising achievement, raising aspirations, and going the extra mile. The Prison security team are always on hand to ensure the lessons run safely and smoothly. Time is available during the day to plan the lessons and your Local Education Manager is always on hand to provide support as and when needed. Due to the nature of the establishment, all aspects of the role are carried out onsite - no more spending your evenings and weekends planning! To be successful in the role, you will need: A teaching qualification OR subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale (required) Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Have a history of working effectively with people presenting challenging behaviour. About HMP Rye Hill HMP Rye Hill is a category 'B' training prison situated in the village of Willoughby, near Rugby in Warwickshire, holding 664 sentenced male adults. HMP Rye Hill has continued to focus on enhancing its rehabilitative culture. Government inspectors have rated the prison positively for promoting safety, respect, and purposeful activity. Additionally, plans for expanding the prison's capacity from 664 to 1126 inmates are underway, further enhancing its ability to manage its population effectively.
