Company Overview:
Our client, a renowned Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead and deliver a flagship £180M project in Central London. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee a prestigious, large-scale development with a company that is synonymous with quality, innovation, and excellence in construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of a £180M construction project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, site managers, and other key personnel to ensure operational excellence.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and implement robust construction strategies and plans, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate any issues that may arise.
- Lead contract negotiations, cost management, and value engineering efforts to optimise project outcomes.
- Oversee the procurement process, ensuring the selection of high-quality suppliers and subcontractors.
- Drive the project’s financial performance, ensuring profitability and effective resource allocation.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects, ideally over £100M in value, in urban environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to inspire and manage large teams.
- Excellent commercial acumen and experience in contract management, cost control, and value engineering.
- Thorough knowledge of construction methods, health and safety regulations, and building codes.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
