Salary: 22 - 25 per hour

Job Summary:
My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join the maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of repair, maintenance, and refurbishment tasks across the site. The Carpenter will ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carpentry Work:
    • Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including but not limited to door and window installation/repair, furniture assembly/repair, shelving, skirting, partition walls, and other woodwork.
    • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials for construction and repair tasks.
    • Install and repair locks, handles, hinges, and other fixtures.
  2. Refurbishment Projects:
    • Participate in refurbishment projects, including renovations and modifications of existing structures.
    • Collaborate with other trades and contractors to ensure smooth and efficient project completion.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials required and the sequence of tasks.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
    • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to identify potential hazards and repair needs.
    • Ensure that all work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
    • Report any issues or delays to the Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience and track record working as a Carpenter.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or a related field.
  • Experience in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, tiling, plastering, and painting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Must have UK driving license

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
