Nursery Chef

Position: Nursery Chef Location: Oxford Sector: Nursery Salary: £23,206 per annum (35 hours a week Monday to Friday 8.45-415) The site is accessible by public transport and there is NO PARKING on site available at this time. My client is a Day Nursery looking for a new chef to supply nutritious food to the 54 children in their care. Children range in age from 4 months to 5 years so the ideal candidate will be able to cater for a range of needs. They provide Breakfast, hot lunch and an afternoon tea. What you will bring * The ability to prep nutritious and tasty meals from fresh * Providing for children with various dietary requirements * Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen * Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met * Understanding of a range of allergens and how to accommodate * Ability/willingness to create a basic menu with the nursery * Previous experience in a day nursery beneficial * Ability to work independently You should have: * Relevant Level 2 qualification/Food Hygiene certificate * Good organisational skills * Previous experience cooking for large groups * Strong communication skills both written and verbal * Current DBS/ happy to apply for a DBS Benefits * up to 38 days holiday, rising to 41 days (this includes 13 bank holiday and concessionary days) * Government Pension Scheme (Up to 14.7% Employer contribution rate) * cycle to work scheme * access to a variety of facilities (NHS Dentist, The Nursery, Gym and sports' facilities) Please note: the successful applicant will need to be subject to a background disclosure check (DBS) before any appointment can be confirmed.
