Team/Role Overview:

Markets Price Risk Data Execution team is looking for a Data Strategy Execution VP, supporting the Price Risk Transformation program. 'Price Risk' includes all aspects of market risk management across First Line and Second Line functions and the initiative sets out to improve and enhance risk management controls and processes across Markets businesses.

The role will be part of the Price Risk execution team as a first line cross-asset risk and control function, which designs, operates and facilitates controls to manage the operational risk, valuation risk and governance components of managing quality of Price Risk, including data quality risk. The team works closely with Global Markets Trading Businesses, In-Business Risk (IBR), Finance and 2LoD in building and managing 1LOD data controls and implementing data quality issue management and governance across processes and activities within Price Risk, SA-CCR and FRTB-SA and FRTB-SA CVA.

The role will require knowledge of Price Risk processes across first and second line risk management and Product/Valuation control, as well as change skills to define, organize and co-ordinate a strategic program of work across businesses and regions. Successful execution will require collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders within Traders, Markets Risk and Control, Quants, Technology, Risk Management and Finance. The program covers all asset classes. It will involve collaboration with stakeholder groups to define a best in class target state, with a robust control framework as well as a set of practical actions to achieve this.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Price Risk Critical Data Element lead to drive execution of the Price Risk Data regulatory book of work through to business adoption

  • Support control enhancements related to critical data element (CDE) data quality validations

  • Assist with the definition of 1LoD controls to improve data quality and other monitoring controls

  • Perform control current state and gap assessments and identify enhancements needed

  • Understand the data quality issues aligned with that data set including end to end data flows and controls and ensure these are addressed in the defined target state solution with robust controls

  • Document business requirements to enable the implementation of 1LoD preventative and detective data quality controls

  • Support strategy execution against the designed target-state control-framework for Price Risk, including business analysis, data analysis, practical testing and implementation

  • Monitor and oversight over trade and CDE data controls, including data quality metrics

  • Support in driving standardized and consistent mechanisms to evidence controls and supervision, and ensure alignment with longer term infrastructure initiatives

  • Lead/participate in working groups/scrums with stakeholders and technology partners to manage the delivery within the agreed timeline(s)

  • Identify Risks & Issues and proactively seek to resolve or escalate them in a timely and well-articulated manner

  • Produce accurate and insightful project update materials and artifacts, tailoring to various forums and committees

  • Support the business through UAT, E2E and production parallel testing

What we'll need from you:

  • Relevant experience as a Business Analyst including trade and CDE data controls, data analysis, business requirement documentation, implementation and UAT testing, through to business adoption

  • Strong relevant industry experience within the Financial Industry, in particular within the 1LoD/2LoD

  • Understand how various markets products work across asset classes and what the associated critical data elements are at the time of booking

  • Attention to detail to capture data accurately and strong data storytelling skills

  • Significant experience with designing and monitoring key controls in a trading environment

  • Strong controls mindset, identifying and mitigating risks, communicating and escalating concerns

  • Business analysis and change management expertise in delivering complex solutions are essential (preferably including proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project)

  • Self-starting with proven ability to hit the ground running

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders

  • Ability to handle complexity, ambiguity and a fast changing, often demanding work environment

  • Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem solving capability

  • Build strong relationships, adopting a joined-up approach, to support the execution of project

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies/principles and their application in a large scale transformation
