Accountant Belfast Full time Temporary Immediate Start Hays Accountancy and Finance team are recruiting on behalf of a public sector organisation, looking for skilled professionals to join and contribute to its financial operations. Your new role Prepare first draft of papers for various meetings including the Executive Management Team, Finance Committee and the Board including an updated forecast each month. Lead, manage and motivate staff to ensure continuous improvement of the services they provide. Ensure effective management of staff including absence and performance management. Prepare reports to senior management as required. Review monthly outturn and variance analysis returns. Assist in the preparation of in year Monitoring Round submissions. Prepare communication to Divisions following the outcome of each Monitoring Round together with revised budgets for each Branch. Assist in the allocation of budgets at the start of the financial year. Provide expert advice and guidance on budgeting. Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems to support financial management and reporting processes. Provide high quality, reliable, accurate and timely financial information to others, both internally and externally. Assist with the strategic and financial planning processes. Provide advice and guidance to promote the safeguarding of public funds and ensure that such funds are discharged with probity, regularity and best value for money. What you'll need to succeed Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full current member of ACCA, ACA, CIMA, IACA etc. Have at least two year's post qualification practical experience, gained within the last five years, in Financial Planning and Budgeting; Financial Accounting/Auditing and/or Financial Reporting and Costing.
