Competitive Salary & BenefitsJob title: Van and Truck Fleet ManagerLocation:Hybrid working based in either Europcar Luton support centre or the Leicester Head Office.About the role:Reporting to the UK, Ireland and Nordics Fleet Director & UK Van & Truck (V&T) Director you will be responsible for overseeing all activities of V&T Fleet procurement and supply chain, in-life OEM product issues and remarketing strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing financial insights to support decision-making.Main objectives:Deliver the UK’s 5 Year V&T EBITDA growth strategyProcurement of a rolling 10,000 - 13,500 unit Van & Truck Fleet alongside the existingFleet Procurement team ( allocated by OEM )Ensure via strong existing OEM relationships that we utilise a mix of Lease, buy-back and risk models to ensure we access the best possible holding terms for vehiclesSupport the drive for better financial performance through implementing a better acquisition strategy, optimum fleet mix and improved remarketing profitUtilise downtime and return to workshop data in conjunction with our own-cost maintenance spend to make informed buying decisions and set holding periodsCollaborate with the EMG OEM relationship owner for correct recompense when issues/recalls, etc arise with their product and seeking satisfactory addressCreate an e-Van and alternative fuels V&T strategy until 2030/35Key tasks and responsibilities:Collaborating with the EMG relationship owner for all major OEMs and/or their appointed Franchiser to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles on-time into the network at the right holding costs/durationsUpdating all parties daily/weekly with an accurate V&T infleet plan and defleet strategy in conjunction with RCM Fleet requirements and demand forecastsInvolvement in Fleet rotation planning, vehicle SIPP mix, to align with the seasonal demand forecasts but also that infleet deadlines are kept in line with demand cycles to maximise utilisation. Working with our RCM and Sales Dept. at all stages.Continuously assess future residual values and adapt the fleet to best realise the highest financial equity at the right timeWorking with the wider remarketing team adapt and enhance our disposal channels to maximise that profit on sale geographically across the UK and reduce vehicle movement costs and carbon footprintOwn the relationship with body-builders (both independent and one-stop-shop) to maximise the vehicles desirability with the minimum of conversion per sector. Obtain correct CAP ID’s for residual values and ensure timely delivery of our vehicles inline with pre-agreed build duration SLAs.Part - Owning the relationship with 3rd party accessory suppliers, including specifications, the length and depth of guarantees/warranty lengths to benefitEuropcar across a 3 year holding period and ensuring they meet SLA’s in terms of fitment deadlines and are compliant to Europcar policies.Working with requests from the Sales team to provide ultra quick net pricing, guidance (incl. yes or no if we do not wish to entertain the request) and offering industry knowledge on suitable extras to the customers brief.Being the central point of contact and ensuring that Sales requests are met, actioned and take ownership for the full fitment process to agreed deadlines in conjunction with Fleet/Sales/Stations.Resolving any aftermarket supplier issues to the satisfaction of both the customer and Europcar.Planning the Livery of new V&T’s per national PDi site, incl. advising distribution volumes per livery Tier (1,2, 4) and liaising with/and auditing PDI centres for livery fitment to brand guidelinesMaintain high responsiveness, high visibility and always expedite requestsKey skills and attributes required:5 years minimum experience in V&T Fleet acquisition with major OEMs / remarketingThe ability to leverage existing long-standing OEM relationships to ensure Europcar are always at the forefront of advantageous price and supply terms.A detailed knowledge of e-Vans and their correct specification and holding periods.Detailed knowledge of the ZEV Mandate, new regulations (incl. 4.25 tonne derogation) and advise on the changes in technology (incl. Hydrogen, alternative fuels).Willingness to work right across the UK weekly with 1 day per week in Leicester HQ with team / wider team.Foreign travel may be required from time to time.Ability to manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships to the benefit of V&TAbility to work and deal with people at all levels of the business promoting V&TStrong attention to detail and good communication skills to inform multiple departments of all actionsCapable of working under pressure to meet deadlinesAt times, some UK travel including overnight stays may be required to meet suppliers and events when required.Why choose Europcar?Joining the team of this market leading brand will give you the opportunity to progress your career in the rental industry.
