Assistant Buyer

Assistant Buyer (Manufacturing) Northampton - NN4 £30-35,000 Permanent, office-based Monday to Friday 08.00-16.30 Do you have purchasing experience within manufacturing or logistics, but keen to develop your skills? Would you like to be pivotal in developing process' and manage your own purchasing projects? If this sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you ASAP. This role is hands on as well as strategic and extremely fast paced, working alongside your manager to develop and improve process'. You will be attending daily meetings and working closely with production to ensure demand is met and inventory is managed accurately. Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Buyer include: Managing forecasts and devising the purchasing plan Negotiate & implement supply contracts Liaising with UK and non-UK suppliers Placing orders with suppliers Raising purchase order requisitions Expediting orders with suppliers Create vendors and items in the ERP system Stock management Preparation of supplier KPI reporting Skills and Experience required from the Assistant Buyer include: Purchasing experience within manufacturing/logistics Competent user of Excel (V Look up, Pivot Tables) Knowledge of using an ERP system is preferred (SAP) Strong organisational skills Hunger to learn and develop your skills within a growing business Please note, due to the high volumes of applications we receive daily, should you not be contacted within 72 hours, your application is unsuccessful.
