Electrician Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician for a comprehensive renovation and conversion project in an old commercial building spanning four floors. The ideal candidate must have a strong commercial background, extensive experience with containment work, and be fully qualified with a Gold Card, CSCS, or ECS certification. The project is expected to last several years, offering stability and long-term employment. Key Responsibilities: * Electrical Installation: Perform full electrical installations as part of the building's conversion, including wiring, circuit installation, and connection of various electrical systems. * Containment Work: Install and maintain containment systems such as cable trays, trunking, and conduit to safely manage the electrical cabling throughout the building. * Old Building Expertise: Address the unique challenges presented by working in an old building, including potential rewiring, upgrades, and troubleshooting of outdated systems. * Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant safety standards and building regulations, maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance. * Collaboration: Work closely with other trades and project managers to coordinate tasks, ensuring the project progresses smoothly and efficiently. * Testing and Commissioning: Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure they function correctly and safely before project completion. * Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any modifications made to the original plans. Qualifications and Experience: * Gold Card / CSCS / ECS Certification: Must hold a valid Gold Card or equivalent certification, demonstrating qualifications and competency in the electrical trade. * Commercial Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience working on commercial projects, preferably with experience in old building conversions. * Containment Work: Proven expertise in installing and managing electrical containment systems in complex environments. * Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise when working in older buildings with potentially outdated infrastructure. * Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and precision to ensure the highest quality of workmanship. Duration: * This is a long-term project expected to last several years, providing a stable and continuous work environment. Additional Requirements: * Physical Fitness: Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks. * Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaborating with the project team.
