Shift Electrician

Our client is a well-established and reputable concrete sleeper manufacturing company based in Doncaster. They have a modern manufacturing facility which is located in Doncaster that has large production and stock capacities, advanced manufacturing / handling processes, and excellent road and train loading facilities, and are a major investment in a modernised supply chain. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Shift Electrician to join their busy and professional team. This role will involve carrying out fault finding and repair activities in the event of any breakdowns within the plant. In addition, planned maintenance schedules and projects, including supporting drawings and documents will be undertaken in line with scheduling. THE ROLE: Perform fault-finding and diagnosis on PLC controlled machinery from schematic drawings. Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices Be responsible for the recording of all work undertaken in relation to industry standard practice. Analysis/Resolution/Improvement of Electrical faults and repairs Conduct regular inspections whilst assisting in the completion and review of risk assessments for the department. Conduct installations of new electrical systems Working alongside other Engineers and alone to combine a great deal of initiative and enthusiasm with a sound understanding of electrical and mechanical issues and carry out mechanical repairs where you are competent to do so. Be responsible for part auditing and ordering as appropriate to ensure equipment downtime is kept to minimum and critical spares are readily available. Working in line with H&S procedures and company policy To Undertake all training offered to carry their role to the full potential with technological advances put into practice from the training to better production efficiencies and working standards. General Housekeeping duties Any other reasonable engineering duties The role will work a 3-week rotating shift pattern of Week 1: Wednesday -Friday 6am-6pm day shifts, Week 2: Monday - Wednesday 6pm-6am night shifts, Week 3: Monday - Tuesday 6am -6pm day shifts and Thursday - Friday 6pm-6am night shifts Working 37.5 hours per week. THE CANDIDATE: Electrical Apprenticeship, preferably to ONC standard Previous experience of working in a Maintenance Engineering role with experience of PPMs ideally within a warehouse, FMCG or similar automation environment 18th Edition Fault-finding and diagnosis experience with PLCs Experience with HMI/Automation control systems A good understanding of variable speed drives and setups Excellent communication skills Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team Ability to work under pressure Ability to work at heights and confined spaces PC literate THE BENEFITS: 5.6 weeks inclusive of BH increasing up to 6.4 weeks with service years Holiday buy scheme Company pension Sick pay Work related bonus scheme Free fruit/refreshments Free parking Annual family summer party Ad hoc service rewards Long service rewards.
