SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Leading Secondary School, Woolwich Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs? This exciting full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and various learning difficulties. If you have previous experience supporting children with these needs, whether professionally or personally, we want to hear from you! Daily Duties: - Provide tailored support to students with ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties in a secondary school setting. - Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting lesson materials to meet diverse learning needs. - Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation. - Support students during lessons, ensuring they understand the material and stay focused on tasks. - Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors in a constructive manner, promoting emotional well-being. - Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed. - Engage with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student development and support. - Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in SEN support. - Contribute to the overall safety and well-being of students within the secondary school environment.
