Service Manager £30k Bradford 8 Monday-Friday (35-hour week) This Bradford based charity offers a safe haven for victims of Domestic Violence and Homelessness. This incredible, well-established charity has grown, providing a comprehensive re-settlement service to all its residents. Offering a tailored service for individuals with a number of key partners that work collaboratively with the charity. An opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to work a 35-hour week, reporting to the Head of Service/Chief Executive. You will play an integral part of the business, responsible for the day to day managing of safe and secure supported accommodation. Working with vulnerable individuals needing practical and emotional support in a time of crisis. The role * Responsible for the day to day running of secured, supported accommodation * Manage a staff team of 4/5 * Work collaboratively with supported housing units, floating support, and peer support groups * Liaise with landlord partners and attend regular progress meetings * Ensure the organisations commitment to equality underpins all areas of work * Provide a flexible, responsive service that meets the needs of tenants * Encourage and promote the services to under-represented communities, including gay, bisexual, and transgender service users. * Ensure all resources, assets and monies are accounted for at all times * Be responsible in responding to emergencies within the service, seeking advice and support as necessary * Liaise with a range of agencies, both statutory and voluntary * Chair fortnightly scheme meeting with staff team * Ensure properties are maintained to a high standard by working proactively with service users * Ensure staff work closely with lets and crash pads, including completing risk assessments wherever necessary. * Ensuring housing benefit and service charges are in payment for service users * Attend external meetings, representing the charity as directed * Working with RSL/landlord partners to take on new tenancies, ensuring utilities are set up and furnished before being introduced to new tenants * Regularly audit service user files, ensuring high standards are maintained in line with the Bradford Quality Assurance Framework * Provide service users a sign-posting service * Partake in other duties as determined reasonable and assist in the smooth running of the project * Complete annual review reports for funders About You Strong leadership skills Encourage and deliver excellent team building Able to demonstrate effective support and supervisory skills Ability to address poor performance Able to apply effective problem-solving skills Able to respond to emergency situations in a calm manner Promote and demonstrate Health & Safety in all areas Work collaboratively with other managers and members of the team Excellent communication skills Fully proficient in Microsoft Office Able to work at pace with a high level of accuracy Be naturally creative and resourceful in problem solving Tenacious and resilient
