About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD), you’ll be supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to deliver tailored interventions that cater to the specific needs of each child. This is a long-term, full-time role offering stability and the chance to build strong relationships with the students you’ll be supporting. Application Requirements: • Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is essential. • A caring and patient attitude, with a passion for supporting children with special needs. • Ability to work effectively within a team and take guidance from teachers and the SENCO. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Key Responsibilities: • Work 1:1 or in small groups with children who have ASD, supporting their learning and development. • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs, ensuring that each child’s educational and emotional needs are met. • Use specialist strategies and techniques to help children manage their behaviour and engage with their learning. • Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to deliver holistic educational and therapeutic interventions. • Support children during activities, ensuring they feel included and engaged in the classroom.
