Restaurant GENERAL MANAGER - Wandsworth Circa £50k. Established over 25 years ago & a stalwart of the London dining scene for 2 generations now hiring a General Manager to lead the business. Intimate, upscale 70 cover restaurant now requires a General Manager as it looks to fire the business forward in 2025. The business comprises a very smart dining room, full of character - offering an excellent standard of food & service. This is a stunning building in a beautiful, high end location serving a brilliant local clientele many of whom use the restaurant on a weekly basis. Our client is looking for a strong General Manager with experience of leading a similar business & a track record of maintaining high standards & driving sales & profitability. This is an autonomous role reporting into the Directors & so this would be the perfect opportunity for a General Manager that wants to run a business as if it were there own. The Directors are keen to hire a successful & proven entrepreneurial General Manager who has a proven track record of building significant businesses over the very long term. This will be a hands on General Manager role - leading a team from the front & would suit someone who wants to break free from their current company constraints & shoot the lights out with their next move. The client is looking to lock someone in for the long term with this appointment & is offering up to £50k salary & a guarantee they will give the incoming General Manager the space to make their own decisions. You should be a skilled, commercially minded General Manager with experience of how to take advantage of the marketing opportunities that exist. The client is open to candidates from high quality bar, restaurant or hotel backgrounds but you must have been working at GM level for a minimum of 3 years. This is a General Manager role that isn't going to be for everyone. It's aimed at General Managers who are growing tired of the thankless corporate contingency and all of the daily tick box exercises and the paperwork that goes with it - or General Managers at that 'sweet spot' in their career who think their only two options are to either get a move managing a larger team & push for Regional role within 6 - 12 months or set up on their own.
