Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Kingston upon Thames / SurbitonJob Type: Contract, Full-Time hours 8:30- 16:00 Primary Industry: Education and TrainingSalary: £420 - £480 Per weekBenefits: CPD and PAYE - Pay As You Earn -NO UMBRELLAJob Duties: Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the classroomAssisting the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activitiesProviding one-to-one support to students who require additional help (physical disabilities) Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all studentsCollaborating with other staff members and ensure engagement of non-verbal students Required Qualifications: Recognised Teaching Assistant qualificationEnhanced DBS checkKnowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (personal experience) Education: Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEND ( Personal experience)Experience in a classroom setting is a plus Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of different learning needs and how to support themExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamPatience and empathy towards students with SEND Preferred Qualifications: First Aid certificationTraining in behaviour management techniquesHealth and Social Care Cache level 3Manual handling Working Conditions: Work in a school settingFull-time hoursWorking in reduced classes ( 6 - 8 students ) Opportunity for professional development All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
