Head of Operational Risk (Outside IR35)


Medium enterprise firm are requiring a Head of IT Operational Risk and Compliance to maintain governance by the reporting of typical operational risk requirements, reports, framework embedding, making sure all the rules and regulations are strictly followed, and all policies are aligned with the overall company strategy.


Day Rate: £700-£780pd

IR35 Status: Outside

Duration: 6 Months

Travel: 2 days a week in Central London


The Head of Operational Risk will have the following experience below:


  • Extensive knowledge of UK and EU risk regulatory requirements
  • Previous compliance advisory experience preferable within an assurance and regulatory framework including a three lines of defence model
  • To assist management in the visibility of the effectiveness of controls in mitigating risks across key risk categories:
  • Ensuring controls are fit for purpose, appropriately embedded and work effectively in the future
  • Operational effectiveness testing in high-risk areas and processes
  • Supporting and working with Transformation in streamlining and simplification of processes and controls
  • Coordinate the delivery of Internal audits by the firms audit partner, ensuring timely execution, reporting and proactive management of audit findings.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining a risk and assurance framework in a non-regulated industry.
  • Experience of leading a team and developing individuals within the team
  • Oversee the procurement and day to day management of the firms commercial insurance programme, in conjunction with CFO
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience with strong influencing skills
  • Member of Institute of Risk Management
  • Will ideally have managed both large enterprise and smaller corporate Risk functions
