About this position
We are looking for a Automation Technician to join a business based in Laindon, Essex in a purpose-built design, engineering and headquarters building with 55 employees at this site.
The majority of their business is the design and assembly of filling and packaging lines for aerosols with a high proportion for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
The basic equipment is made by the principal company in Switzerland. The company incorporates this and other machines into the lines, linking them with their own conveyors, enclosures, electrical control systems and ancillary equipment.
All panel building, wiring and PLC programming is done on site and other departments specialise in machine assembly, commissioning and documentation. Experience is always valued, although for this role, a firm grounding in control systems and PLC based control, would make an ideal candidate.
We are looking to appoint a Project Managers to work in their Technical Office.
The role is very dynamic and calls on technical, commercial, project and management skills as well as an amicable manner to work with a variety of specialists.
Job responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects and types of projects through the business, from large production lines to small table-top units.
- Meet overall project objectives for quality, delivery and cost - Manage & resolve key project risks & issues.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the current scope of work throughout the project & manage the commercial impact of any changes.
- Liaising with internal departments to ensure that projects run smoothly and that technical information is passed on correctly.
- Corresponding with customers and suppliers on technical issues.
Experience Required:
- Systematic approach to their work with attention to detail.
- Excellent at building & maintaining relationships with key client stakeholders.
- Strong customer focus.
- Able to work effectively with people across departments and shop floor staff.
- A project manager with an appreciation for project engineering.
- Experience of managing projects in a technical environment, ideally with extended project life cycles (2 years+).
- Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry sector with an understanding of GMP and validation principles would be advantageous.
