A great opportunity has arisen for an Equity Sales Specialist at Goodbody.The Equity Specialist Sales team sits within the Capital Markets function and works closely with the trading, research and corporate departments. This role could sit in either Dublin or London.About the role:The primary functions of the Equity Specialist Sales team are: Generation of fees through selling research to new and existing institutional clients Generation of trade ideas to earn commissions on trading and CSA Assisting in the execution of large block trades Distribution of structured trades such as IPOs and secondary sell downs Expand and deepen the distribution reach of the firm through new business development which will involve regular travel Building specialist sales knowledge in specific sectors of excellence for GoodbodyQualifications and Experience required for the role:At least 5 years experience working within equity sales, research, corporate finance, corporate broking or portfolio management Series 7 & 63 or a willingness to achieve these qualificationsRelevant stockbroking and regulatory examsCFA Charter holder or willing to sit for it would be viewed favourablyIdeal Characteristics for the successful candidate for this role:An aptitude for uncovering the specific needs of clients and servicing them effectivelyA strong team player with initiative and ability to cross-sell to existing Goodbody relationships and build out further relationshipsAn ability to quickly develop a rapport with clientsA track record of establishing, developing and monetising client relationshipsExcellent interpersonal and social skillsAbility to work under pressure and prioritise workload quicklyNegotiation and presentation skillsHave a passion for sales and financial marketsStrong drive and ambitionAbility to communicate clearly and effectively both internally and externallyBe able to act on their own initiativeAppointment to this role is subject to the candidate's eligibility to work in Ireland or UK.Unsolicited CVs / profiles supplied to us by recruitment agencies will not be accepted for this role.Goodbody is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace which values and benefits from the diversity of our workforce.
