Job Title: Teaching Assistant for English Department (Secondary School) Location: Harrow, London Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Pay rate: £90 - £100 per day About the Role: Are you a recent English graduate with a passion for education and a desire to inspire the next generation? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant (English Department) to join our vibrant secondary school in Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, working closely with the English department to support the delivery of engaging and effective English lessons. Key Responsibilities: Classroom Support: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of English lessons across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students are fully engaged and supported in their learning. Individual and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their potential in English. Practical Demonstrations: Assist in setting up and supervising laboratory experiments and practical demonstrations, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed. Resource Management: Help to organise English resources, ensuring that all are prepared and available for lessons. Student Progress: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to student assessments. Enrichment Activities: Support the development and delivery of extracurricular literature activities, such as science clubs, workshops, and field trips.About You: English Graduate: A degree in relation to English (e.g. English Literature, English Language, Journalism etc) Passionate: A strong interest in education and a desire to inspire young people in the field of science. Organised: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students.
