Job Title: Tax Semi-Senior Location: Wirral Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Company: A reputable and expanding accountancy practice in Wirral is seeking a motivated Tax Semi-Senior to join their growing tax team. The Role: As a Tax Semi-Senior, you will assist in managing the tax affairs of a varied client portfolio, including personal and corporate tax. You will support senior tax staff and managers, gaining exposure to complex tax issues while developing your technical expertise. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of personal returns for a portfolio of clients. Assisting with tax compliance, including VAT and PAYE matters. Supporting senior tax staff with more complex tax planning and advisory projects. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and resolving tax queries. Providing clients with tax advice and support, ensuring compliance with current legislation. Assisting with the preparation of P11Ds and other statutory tax documents. Ensuring that tax work is completed on time and to a high standard. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of UK tax regulations and changes. Requirements: AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA (or equivalent). Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in tax, ideally within an accountancy practice. Good knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain tax matters clearly to clients. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Experience with tax software and accounting systems (such as TaxCalc, Xero, or similar).
