Job Advert: Claims Handler
Location: Hertford
Salary: Up to £30,000
Discretionary Bonus: Up to 5% of base salary
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch break)
Type: Office-based (No remote working)
Our client, a leading firm specializing in property law, is seeking Claims Handlers to join their team in Hertford. The role involves managing high-volume cases involving service charges, ground rent, buildings insurance, and breaches of leases for long leasehold flats and freehold houses with estate rent charges.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Communication:
* Draft and send client care letters, Conditional Fee Agreements (CFAs), and Terms of Business (ToBs).
* Regularly update clients on case progress.
Legal Documentation:
* Prepare and submit Part 7 claim forms.
* Draft and file applications to request and set aside judgments.
* Handle documents for out-of-jurisdiction proceedings.
Judgment Enforcement:
* Enforce judgments via High Court enforcement officers.
* Process charging orders and Orders for Sale.
* Draft and serve Section 146 Law of Property Act notices.
Case Management:
* Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Handle cases related to service charges, ground rent, insurance, and lease breaches.
* Maintain accurate case files and records.
Collaboration:
* Work closely with solicitors and legal professionals to support case progression.
* Liaise with courts, enforcement agencies, and external counsel as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
* A legal qualification (e.g., Law degree, Paralegal diploma) is preferred.
Experience:
* Experience in debt recovery or property law is highly desirable.
* Proven expertise with Part 7 claims and enforcement of judgments.
Skills:
* Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules.
* Excellent legal drafting and research skills.
* Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office.
* Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
