We are looking for hard working and dynamic individuals to come aboard and be a part of the next generation of the Zodiac Maritime team!The rolePosition: Senior Sale & Purchase ManagerContract type: Full TimeReporting to: Head of Sale & PurchaseLocation: LondonOverview of role With our diversified portfolio of over 180 commercial vessels and the continuation of expansion across our fleet, this is an exciting opportunity to join a small, highly effective team of four delivering on vessel acquisitions, both newbuilds and second-hand tonnage and sale of vessels within the fleet. As Senior Sale & Purchase Manager, reporting into the Head of Sale and Purchase, you will work closely with our c-suite to support in the coordination and completion of commercially beneficial sales and purchase activities from contract negotiations through to ship delivery. Zodiac is therefore seeking an experienced Senior Sale and Purchase Manager, with a broad and in-depth knowledge of Shipping. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics and economic principles. They are proactive, detail-oriented and capable of delivering high-quality results under pressure. Key responsibilities and primary deliverables Preparation Negotiate the sale and purchase of vessels on Principals’ behalf including newbuild, second hand and recyclingNegotiate long term charter arrangements (bareboat (in/out)) agreements on Principals’ behalfPrepare investment cashflow analyses relating to potential S&P transactionsReview, determine accuracy and distribute negotiation Recaps/LOIsAssist in drafting / reviewing transactional documentation, including MOAs, SBCs, BBCPs and supporting corporate documentation, always protecting the interests of PrincipalsArrange execution of authorised transactional documentationFinanceLiaising with the Treasury and Ship Finance Department to ensure the strategic planning and forecasting of all S&P paymentsEnsure that required arrangements for the holding/lodging/releasing of transactional funds (Deposits/Balances/Instalments) are made and confirmed within the required timescalesAccurately calculate final balances including bunkers, oils and extras etc on the purchase and sale of assets.Processing and authorising payment of contract instalments, purchase prices, commissions and any other payments due / or due to be receivedCommunication and Coordination of ProcessReport the main terms of transactions to all personnel and Principal’s Representative Offices in Monaco and New York, or as necessaryDistribute copies of contracts to relevant Department ManagersUpdate all relevant departments, offices and Masters on the authorised transactional terms within the required timescalesInstruct Masters/Superintendents/local representatives as necessaryReport confirmation of delivery to all personnel, Principals Representative Offices and other authorities as necessaryCompletion Ensure full compliance of all S&P contractual obligationsPrepare and arrange execution of all required delivery documents, including liaising with Principals, Flag State Authorities, Classification Societies, banks, etc.Arrange the collation of all required vessel documentation, certificates, details etc. required by a potential buying interestCoordinate and ensure that all relevant Departments, Masters, Superintendents and Port Agents are updated on the details relating to the physical delivery of the vesselParticipate and represent the Principals at closing meetings as and when required, which may include attendance outside of normal working hoursInstruct delivery on Principals’ confirmationReportingAccurately update and distribute S&P and market reports and reference lists Maintain accessible, updated and well organised electronic filesAd hoc ProjectsUndertake such other duties and tasks as required to assist in the smooth running of the S&P DepartmentParticipate in the S&P Department’s growth with input and ideas for development initiativesSkills profile Relevant experience & education 7-10 years shipping experience in Sales and Purchase (Broker / Principal)Ability to draft, review and negotiate S&P contractsDemonstrated understanding of the difference in vessel types, main areas of shipbuilding, flag states, classification and commercial variables in shipping is a requirement for the roleStrong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the business, external legal, commercial and government entities High level of analytical skills and strategic thinking ability to support decisions with sound reasoning and judgementExcellent attention to detail and ability to identify and focus on relevant informationAbility to self-motivate and to prioritise conflicting demands against short timelinesCreative and lateral thinker with the ability to use initiative and be proactiveProfessionalism and trustworthiness should be beyond questionAbility to take ownership and holds oneself accountableCommitment to helping promote and maintain a safe workplaceAdvanced knowledge and proven ability in the use of Microsoft Office applications i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPointDue to the high volume of applications, we regret that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
