We invite you to become part of our dynamic team at a non-selective independent co-educational primary school in Islington, London, where we foster a nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 11 years old. Our diverse community, enriched by a large population of Asian and Indian students who speak over 40 languages, reflects a beautiful tapestry of cultures and experiences. As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Challenging Behaviours, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning. Application Requirements: • Relevant experience working with children with challenging behaviours or special educational needs. • A patient and empathetic approach, with excellent communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage effectively with students and families. • A commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment. • Relevant qualifications (such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential. Key Responsibilities: • Support children with challenging behaviours in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 settings. • Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs). • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere. • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to track progress and adapt strategies as needed. • Encourage social and emotional development, providing guidance and support to students.
