Hollr is recruiting for a stand-out Media Relations Specialist to join our talented and ever-growing team.You will lead on devising effective campaign media strategy and securing coverage opportunities across broadcast, print and online media on behalf of our clients which include L’Oreal Group, Cisco, Health Equals and Nedbank Private Wealth.You will have an impressive black book of contacts, with a strong track record in delivering stellar coverage for clients both domestically and internationally, in market and above market media. Hollr boasts an impressive client list in the UK and beyond, which has recently seen us extend Hollr's presence to the USA and the Middle East, making international contacts highly desired.You will be confident liaising with journalists, producers and editors, with a flair for pitching business and consumer news and features. You will have solid experience helping shape the narrative of campaigns, writing engaging releases and advisories that will entice the world’s leading media.Core role / skills:Demonstrate an impressive understanding of the media landscape and the outlets and journalists who operate within itHave an eye for making a story, love pitching and a desire to meet journalists and build new connections across both business and lifestyle mediaHave a keen interest and detailed knowledge of international and domestic news to feed newsworthy ideas into brainstorms and help create pitches and approaches to mediaHelp develop and manage corporate storytelling / priority narratives for key clientsSupport in delivery of outstanding outcomes for clients by expanding their influence via media channelsLiaise with producers and journalists across multiple global networks to secure opportunities - both campaign led and on a more reactive basis - including horizon scanning to identify opportunitiesAct as a trusted advisor and strategic media lead for key clients – directly liaising with them where appropriateCollaborate with the wider team to understand client goals & objectives and where you can add further valueAvidly consume media (of all types) and share any insightful or useful information with your colleagues – e.g. journalist moves, updates to a social media platforms, new features etcBuild Hollr’s reputation, helping to cultivate our positive relationship with global mediaEducate and contribute to the media relations skillset growth of the wider Hollr team, through team training and 1-2-1’s.The ideal candidate will have:A minimum of 5 years’ experience in domestic and international media relationsA strong interest and understanding of international media, specifically in the USA, and the daily global news agendaExceptional interpersonal skillsCreative ideas in developing story narrativesExcellent writing skills for crafting advisories that will appeal to our target mediaStrong news judgement and an understanding of what specific media need to help craft a story that suits their outputOrganisation skills and attention to detailBenefits:The opportunity to work on a wide variety of leading brands and organisationsCompetitive salary plus bonus opportunitiesHybrid working model within a rewarding work ‘environment’ & flexibility
