Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Sinclair’s global pricing analytics function, sourcing and analysing internal as well as external data.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support to the Global Brand Managers, ensuring the commercial potential of our products is fully captured.
  • Oversee market research projects, prepare global pricing and market share estimates, and conduct trend analyses.
  • Identify and propose strategies to optimize Sinclair’s position within the value chain to capture maximum value (e.g., supply chain and distribution optimization). Collaborate with local teams to facilitate implementation.
  • Provide analytical and strategic support for the annual strategy and business planning processes.
  • Support special projects within the commercial function, such as contract negotiations and the evaluation of new business opportunities.


Essential :

  • Degree educated, most likely in a STEM field
  • Strong skills in business analytics, including the development of new frameworks and methods
  • Solid business understanding
  • Strategic understanding of business strategy and how business analytics can facilitate commercial success
  • Proven ability to work successfully with all organizational levels
  • Experience working successfully in an international or global environment


Desirable:

  • Experience from a management consulting or similar background
  • Basic understanding of game theory, particularly in the context of how real-life business decisions can be understood as strategic games
  • Understanding of market research methodologies, such as how Conjoint Analysis can help uncover the relative importance of different factors
  • Understanding of theoretical models and frameworks for pricing
  • Mandarin language skills


Key skills:

  • Strong analytical skills (Excel) and presentation preparation skills (PowerPoint)
  • Strategic understanding, with the ability to see “the big picture” combined with the patience and diligence to thoroughly analyse data at the “line item” level
  • Ability to develop new data sources and systems to process the data
  • Ability to design and execute market research projects (internally and with external vendors) to enhance our analytical understanding of the market environment.
