Learning Support Assistant

Position: Teaching Assistant – Specialist Resource Base Location: Secondary School, Cardiff Start Date: September Salary: £425.20 per week Hours: 8.15am - 3.15pm, Monday to Friday, Term time only Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism? A secondary school in Cardiff is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Specialist Resource Base. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate after an initial trial period. Key Responsibilities: * Provide support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a specialist resource base. * Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs and activities. * Utilize your knowledge of tactical and online gaming platforms to engage and motivate pupils. * Support pupils in developing social skills and managing behaviour. * Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment. Requirements: * Experience supporting pupils with ASD and ALN is highly desirable. * Knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons, Minecraft, War Hammer, and other tactical or online platforms is beneficial. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team. * Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the educational development of young people.
