Integration Architect

Integration Architect (Insurance, Tibco, RESTful APIs) Based in Edinburgh or Manchester - 3 days a week on site - Up to £95k base My Client is a leading Life & Pensions brand with operations across the UK. They are seeking a highly skilled Integration Layer Architect to be responsible for designing and implementing the integration layer of their technical architecture, ensuring seamless communication between various components and systems. This role involves working closely with multiple departments, including IT, development, and business units, to deliver robust and scalable integration solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and Architecture: Develop and maintain the integration layer architecture, ensuring it meets the needs of the business and aligns with the overall technical strategy. This includes designing reusable services, orchestrations, and RESTful APIs. Component Interaction: Define and implement standard patterns for message exchange, coordination, and interactions between tier components. Ensure that all components follow a "successful by default" invocation pattern. Security and Authentication: Implement secure identity management, authentication, and authorization mechanisms within the integration layer. Ensure all operations are authenticated and authorized according to the company's security policies. Exception Handling: Develop and enforce consistent exception handling patterns across all services. Ensure that exceptions are logged and managed effectively to maintain system stability and reliability. Performance Optimization: Optimize memory usage, process communication, and execution within the integration layer. Implement best practices for efficient data handling and service invocation. Documentation and Standards: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the integration layer architecture, design patterns, and implementation guidelines. Ensure all components adhere to established standards and best practices. Essential Experience for the successful Integration Architect: Minimum of 5 years of experience in integration architecture and design, with a strong background in developing and implementing integration solutions. Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, message exchange patterns, and coordination patterns. Experience with security and authentication mechanisms, exception handling, and performance optimization. Familiarity with TIBCO products (Mashery, BusinessWorks, ActiveSpaces, FTL), Microsoft Dynamics 365, and other relevant integration tools and technologies.
