External Affairs Specialist

BDS Recruitment are recruiting for an External Affairs specialist working remotely for a leading Housing Association. As an External Affairs Specialist, you’ll work closely with senior leaders and teams across the company to connect them to some of their most influential audiences, including politicians, local authorities and partners (current and potential) which are integral to the delivery of the clients business objectives, and which help accelerate positive outcomes for their customers and grow their brand. You will work with other members of the Communications and Public Affairs team and colleagues across the business to identify and drive positive relationships across all areas of the operation to help build their profile and grow highly effective stakeholder relationships. The candidate : * Strong understanding and experience of influencing and lobbying in the British local and national political system. * Confidence in delivering strategy and effective influencing. * Experience of undertaking or managing research projects that enhance business understanding of key issues. * Demonstrable experience of working in a complex stakeholder environment, turning strategy into action. * Demonstrable knowledge and experience of establishing and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders. * A commitment to excellent customer service. * Effective communication skills, in person and in writing, including the ability to credibly present at meetings and events. Benefits: * 28 days paid holiday plus bank holidays per year (pro-rata for part time) rising by 1 day per year up to a maximum of one working week. * A choice of Pension Schemes including a Defined Benefit Scheme with a 7.5% member contribution or a Defined Contribution Scheme with a 4% member contribution and 4% employer contribution.
