Our client is looking for Experienced Bench Operative based in Yeovil. Pay Rate: £18.34 - £18.69 on day shift (depends on experience) and £21.65- £22.06 for Days/ Late Swing Shift (depends on experience). Full time: Monday - Friday Day and Late Swing Shift available. Days Mon to Thurs (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 12:00) Days/Late Swing Shift Days - Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 13:00) Lates - Monday to Thursday (15:30 to 00:00) The role will involve drilling, tapping and de-burring of Aerospace Equipment, in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Specifications and Customer/Regulator Requirements, working within an empowered team environment to meet delivery requirements and reporting directly to the Team Lead. The position of the Bench Operative holds the following responsibilities: * Producing product to Engineering Drawings and Instructions * Drilling, tapping and de-burring (Hand Tools and drill/tapping banks) * OCQ - Operator Control of Quality * To achieve on time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard * Interpreting Engineering Drawings, following the process layout and documentation procedures Qualifications & Experience Required: * Strong Engineering background (Essential) * Knowledge of drilling, tapping and de-burring operations * Knowledge of hand measuring equipment, such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread and Plug Gauges * High standard of Health & Safety * Adhering to Company Processes & Procedures * Working in a Customer-focused environment and achieving targets Attributes/Skills Required: * The position requires the applicant to have an understanding of Aerospace practice and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken * PC literate * Ability to read and follow instructions * The applicant should be able to display essential skills in the adherence to Health & Safety standards at all times, teamwork, flexibility and the ability to use initiative * Continuous Improvement * Any further training requirements will be provided:- PC skills (incl. Company Operating Systems), Manual Handling, 5S, HOS Principles and general Health & Safety This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of Export Control Licenses and Technical Assistant Agreements.
