Business Development Manager (Forklift Batteries)

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working on an exclusive basis with a leading provider of industrial batteries and related products. Focusing predominantly on the material handling sector they require a new Business Development Manager to work on a national basis in growing the end user customer basis in addition to forklift OEM’s & dealer’s. Responsibilities Targeting OEM’s, end user & distributor accounts across the UK in a number of different market sectors, mostly industrial and warehousing related Providing a solutions based approach in understanding customer requirements for batteries and motive power services Work in conjunction with material handling provider’s and other parties to ensure the customer expectations are fulfilled and a full solution is provided to an adequate standard Work in conjunction with the Contracts Manager’s Discuss other possible customer requirements in addition to batteries for material handling, to include AGV, Electrical Vehicles, Sweepers and access equipmentRequirements  The role requires an individual with both a driven personality and willingness to understand the technicalities of material handling and warehouse solutions. You will ideally possess experience of selling into industrial/warehouse previously preferably from within material handling batteries, forklift trucks, racking or similar, however this is by no means essential. A technical background in either forklifts or batteries is also preferred though not essential and ultimately the flexibility to target different revenue streams on a national basis is key.
