Job description: Job Title: System Tester Head Office Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham Job Location: B1 2JB Salary - £33,400 - £41,800 per annum Contract type - Fixed Term (6 months) Working hours - Full Time (37 Hours Per Week) Closing Date - 15 th October Interview Date - 21 st October About the role The System Tester role at GreenSquareAccord is essential for ensuring the quality and performance of new software applications. Based in Birmingham, this position involves conducting comprehensive testing across various stages, including unit, integration, system, and regression testing. The System Tester meticulously identifies defects and performance issues early, ensuring that software meets the organisation`s needs before deployment, thereby maintaining high software standards and operational stability. In this role, you will work closely with Digital Services teams and end users to facilitate smooth transitions into production. Responsibilities include coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), executing performance testing, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The System Tester also maintains testing environments, documents all testing activities, outcomes, and defect resolutions, and provides input on deployment plans. The System Tester safeguards the organisation`s production systems by rigorously testing all new software releases, ensuring that deployments are seamless and cause minimal disruption to business operations. This role is critical for mitigating risks associated with introducing new software or updates into live environments, ensuring that security, performance, and functional requirements are fully met. About you We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented System Tester with a strong background in software testing methodologies. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with formal qualifications in software testing, such as ISTQB Foundation Level. Advanced certifications like ISTQB Advanced Level or security testing qualifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are highly desirable. The candidate should have experience with automated testing tools (e.g., UIPath, JIRA) and a solid understanding of unit, integration, system, regression, and performance testing. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex software systems, troubleshoot issues, and identify defects. They should be capable of interpreting test results, analysing system performance, and evaluating whether the software meets business requirements. Experience in managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and coordinating between supplier and IT teams is essential. The candidate should also have excellent communication and influencing skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders and ensure testing outcomes are addressed. In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should be proactive in identifying and suggesting improvements in the testing process, contributing to the overall quality of future deployments. They should be familiar with cost-effective testing strategies. A strong customer focus is crucial, with the ability to design and implement test plans that reflect the needs and expectations of end users, ensuring that software solutions are user-friendly and effective.
