Unit manager job - Liverpool Howard Finley Care are recruiting for a new Senior Care Assistant to work within our client's nursing home in Dronfield. Senior Care Assistant vacancy details: £13.11 per hour 42 hours per week available day positions availableUnit manager main duties: Leadership & Management: Oversee the daily operations of the dementia care unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that meets the individual needs of residents. Lead, motivate, and manage a team of care staff, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to ensure high standards of care. Conduct regular staff meetings and handovers to ensure clear communication and continuity of care. Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate and meet regulatory requirements, adjusting rotas as needed. Resident Care: Ensure that all residents receive person-centered care that is tailored to their individual needs, preferences, and abilities. Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Monitor residents' health and well-being, responding promptly to any changes in condition and arranging for additional support or medical intervention as needed. Promote a positive, supportive environment that enhances residents' quality of life and well-being. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all care delivered within the unit complies with CQC regulations, best practices, and the care home's policies and procedures. Conduct regular audits of care practices, documentation, and medication administration to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Manage and respond to any complaints or concerns raised by residents, families, or staff, ensuring that they are addressed promptly and effectively.Communication & Collaboration: Act as the main point of contact for residents and their families, providing regular updates on care and addressing any concerns. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, and therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to care. Foster a culture of open communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the unit.Training & Development: Identify training needs within the unit and ensure that all staff receive the necessary training to provide high-quality dementia care. Support the professional development of care staff through regular appraisals, supervision, and mentorship. Health & Safety: Ensure that the unit operates in accordance with health and safety regulations, including infection control, fire safety, and safeguarding procedures. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to minimize risks to residents and staff. Financial Management: Assist in managing the unit's budget, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
