Contracts and Compliance Specialist

Between £32,000 - £50,000 (Depending on experience)

ASAP - 4 weeks start.


We have a requirement for a Senior Contracts and Compliance Executive to join our legal business unit for an initial 12 months maternity cover. The principal responsibilities below reflect the main areas to be covered by this role but due to the constantly evolving nature of the business there needs to be a flexible and adaptable approach to the delivery to the role and the team.

Nature of work


The fundamental purpose of this important role is to ensure the company issues accurate and legally compliant contracts to all entities that have a ‘recruitment’ business relationship with the company. This will include clients and suppliers of ‘interim / contract’ staffing solutions, i.e. the contractors.


This role reports into the Group Legal and Compliance Manager, is part of the Contracts & Compliance team and requires direct involvement with the Sales Team that will occur on a daily basis, interfacing with all areas of the business to ensure that contracts and compliance matters to all external business parties delivered as per the Company policy and guidelines.

Attention to detail, enthusiasm to deliver a quality service and the ability to understand a wide range of international contract employment solutions (employed model; freelancer etc) are prerequisite for this role.


Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Assist in drafting and submission of paperwork to the Contracts & Compliance team for review (including extensions and other contracts) before delivery to the end recipients.
  • Check commercials
  • Follow document workflow
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Control
  • Conduct contract audits e.g. check existing contracts on file.
  • Contract validation and implementing any updates as required on internal CRM.
  • Conduct background screening
  • Assist in compliance queries as per the Company’s service level agreements. These involve but not limited to international contractor legislation AWR, IR35, CIS, Opt Out Regulations, A1 certifications; Ftax, Limosa; right to work validations; compliant contracting route to markets etc
  • Conduct Status determinations with Clients as well as Contractors in accordance with IR35 regulations
  • To provide support in the preparation and submission of RFI/RFPs/Tenders etc.
  • Act as 1st point of contact in team for candidate-based compliance and contractual enquiries
  • Drafting of terms and NDAs to Clients and Suppliers based on the businesses templates
  • Manage compliance audit processes; internal and external
  • Work with the Group’s payroll PSL in delivering compliant solutions to Clients and Contractors
  • Liaising with the Sales / Admin / Finance teams to resolve outstanding queries relating to compliance and contractual engagements
  • Outstanding Compliance Reporting
  • Escalating to Management any business that comes to your attention outside of company policy
  • Working to the Companies Service level Agreements.
  • To represent the company, adopting the highest possible standards of professionalism at all times.

  • Experience in an international contracts and compliance function within the recruitment industry
