We are partnered with a forward thinking South East, General Property Practice to search for a critical hire within their London Valuation team. I am mandated to find a Senior Surveyor that has strong commercial valuation experience and wants to join a company that can offer fast progression and possibly equity. Working from their prime West End, London offices on a hybrid basis, this team caries out a diverse range of valuation instructions throughout Central London and some home counties working with a variety of clients and properties. The business is relatively small, at around 20 staff but is fast growing and have made huge strides with year on year growth with last year up 36%! They have solid PI cover and work with all major high street banks/lenders. This company continues to cherry pick excellent people from the market and based on their extensive workload need an ambitious Surveyor or Senior Surveyor that wants/needs fast progression with the view of this role to elevate them on a fast track to directorship.
What will you be doing in this role?
A large bulk of this role includes providing valuation advice to clients for loan security, accounts and other purposes including, tax, acquisitions, disposals and financial reporting with a solid split of around 80% commercial and 20% residential but this can be tailored to the individual one way or the other. This would be on behalf of a really diverse client base, keeping you very busy and interested. Some days you may be working on large offices, some days religious buildings and then other days retail units and major car show rooms. No two days will be the same! Clients would include major lending organisations including UK clearing banks and alternative lenders, investors, developers, local authorities and landed estates.
What experience is needed?
- MRICS and RICS Registered Valuer
- Experience in writing clear and concise reports and providing strategic property advice and due diligence
- Clear experience of valuing commercial assets. A mix of commercial and residential is fine.
- Experience of statutory, development and investment valuations across different asset types is ideal.
- Willingness to oversee and assist junior colleagues
- Demonstrable communication skills
