Senior Conveyancing Executive or Property Solicitor Full time on a 12-month fixed term contract Salary: circa £43,500 Hybrid between home working and the Bradford office We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Conveyancing Executive or Property Solicitor to join our Property Transactions team. In this role, you will manage a varied caseload of leasehold residential conveyancing matters from inception through to post-completion. Your work will include handling new development plot sales, resales, buybacks, shared ownership, enfranchisements, and statutory/voluntary lease extensions. Additionally, you will supervise the conveyancing arm of the team, ensuring that all processes are optimised, risks are minimised, and efficiencies are achieved. Responsibilities include: * Case Management: Handle your own caseload of conveyancing matters from start to finish, including setting up files, conducting searches, filing SDLT returns, and drafting exchange and completion letters. * Supervision & Leadership: Manage and supervise the conveyancing team, developing and implementing key processes and protocols to enhance efficiency and reduce risk. * Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly in supporting the delivery of new developments. * Compliance: Ensure all conveyancing activities comply with relevant regulations, including SRA and Money Laundering rules. * Drafting & Documentation: Draft new development leases and shared ownership leases (particularly OPSO leases) in accordance with planning documentation and the expectations of the Development Commissioning/Delivery team. * Registration & Tax: Handle Land Registration and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) matters with proficiency. Qualifications & Experience: For Property Solicitor: * Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales For Conveyancing Executive: * Law Degree, CLC qualifications, CILEX, or extensive demonstrable legal experience Essential Experience & Skills: * Proven experience managing high volumes of conveyancing transactions, including Freehold & Leasehold Sales & Purchases, New Development Plot Sales, Shared Ownership Leases, Lease Extensions, and Enfranchisements. * Excellent understanding of the Landlord and Tenant Act and related conveyancing procedures. * Experience drafting sale and purchase contracts, interpreting lease clauses, and managing Land Registration and SDLT. * Proficient in compliance matters such as SRA and Money Laundering regulations. * Demonstrable experience in managing a team, delivering training, and developing staff to enhance skill sets within the conveyancing process. * IT literate, with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and, ideally, case management systems. You will have a deep understanding of the conveyancing procedure, possess excellent attention to detail, and be capable of delivering effective training to your team. Your ability to develop streamlined processes and support the delivery of new developments will be key to your success in this role.
