The Commercial Excellence Lead will be responsible for optimizing the commercial operations of the organization by leveraging their financial expertise and leadership experience. This role involves driving strategic initiatives that improve commercial performance, enhance profitability, and ensure the organization meets its financial and operational targets. The ideal candidate has a strong background in finance, strategic planning, and commercial operations, with a proven ability to translate financial data into actionable business strategies.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Commercial Leadership:Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the organization’s financial goals.Lead cross-functional teams to optimize pricing, sales effectiveness, and overall commercial performance.Provide insights into market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive dynamics to inform business decisions.Financial Analysis and Reporting:Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.Develop business cases for new commercial initiatives, including ROI analysis and financial forecasting.Process Improvement:Lead initiatives to streamline commercial processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.Implement best practices in sales, pricing, and customer relationship management to drive excellence.Identify and mitigate risks in commercial operations.Stakeholder Management:Collaborate closely with the sales, finance and operations teams to ensure alignment of commercial activities with financial objectives.Present commercial strategies and performance updates to senior leadership and the board of directors.Act as a key liaison between the finance department and commercial teams, ensuring clear communication and shared goals.Performance Management:Establish and track KPIs for commercial performance, providing regular updates to senior management.Lead initiatives to enhance sales effectiveness and customer engagement strategies.Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the commercial team, ensuring high standards of performance.The candidate:Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA) with significant years post qualified experienceExplicitly partnered with sales in order to drive top line revenueWorked in a listed or private equity environmentOn offer:Remote working with occasional travel to UK head officePart of a high achieving management team
