Electrical Design Engineer

Attention all Electrical Design Engineers Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a reputable Building Services design consultancy on a long-term contract basis. This position will involve a mixture of survey and design work. The successful candidate will be expected to operate on a hybrid basis, attending Croydon office 3 days per week. Key responsibilities Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc. Survey existing Electrical services and make necessary adjustments to the defsigns. Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations. Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools. Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures. Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.Key requirements Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects. Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial. Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages.
